Why Choose the RXCamView App
Tech support has been wonderful and appears to be US based, which is refreshing. I will say the directions provided in the box to get the mobile app needs to be expanded upon and clarified for mobile connectivity over cellular signal. Cameras are very clear and the features that are programmable are numerous. The only feature that I don’t have activated is the voice to talk with people for 2-way communication.
Great working app if you know how to configure it. Remote viewing we have had no issues with it going “offline” ever on mobile. We do not use the motion detection on our cameras, but did get notifications from the App prior to disabling them. I use this app on an LG V60 phone which has better specs than most new phones. I also use the PC version of this app which works flawlessly. The only downfall would be that they never issue updates for either of the Apps and security updates should be done.
When configured properly, this is the best camera app out there, with a ton of system options and dito features. But, you need a fast mobil device, a fast internet line at your home and a fast internet connection on your phone/tablet.Without any of these, you will get a lot of lag and bandwidth issues. That is not a problem with the app, but rather an internet/network restriction on your home network or your phone. Works a lot better then the manufacturer’s software. Good luck all!!
Has a lot of connection issues. In two weeks i have had to delete device and reload just to monitor cameras. It is free, so you get what you pay for. My suggestion is , charge alittle and make this app better. Thank you. Editing my response. Once I got used to the system and compared to others , this is a great camera system and app. Instructions could use a revision in my opinion. For the money night vision is awesome.
I was having trouble with the system going offline everyday & not being able to access the cameras from the app. All the suggestions from the app developer & my internet company (blaming each other) didn’t work. After trial & error I figured it out myself… I set it to static & set the auto reboot to daily at midnight. Problem solved & I’ve not had any problems for 2 weeks now. 🙂 Access!!!
Well I’ve changed my review I recently bought the cobra 8 channel dvr with 8 cameras. The install was a nightmare for me I don’t speak computer, the manual relys on photos of the diff screens to show you what to do. But the photos are so small, you cant make em out with a magnifying glass. When you get this debugged, it will work great! Many hidden bugs, try rebooting phone, router, modem, and set auto reboot to daily, check permissions, reinstalling app And changing wifi, I had a weakrouter2
Had a little bit of problems getting it to work through the data part of my phone it kept disconnecting. I changed the settings on the receiver to reset it 5:00 a.m. every morning so that it’s always fresh and now I have little to no problems with it. Only paid $300 for my camera system and it works better than the 5, 000 system my work uses which won’t stay connected at all very pleased with it. I wish the night view was in color though.
Edited: app working great now …….. This app has not been working for the last few days and the authors web site is gone. It was a great app when it worked. ps. I do not think this is a version upgrade issues because I downloaded a couple previous versions and installed them with the same results. I think this has something to do with his website being down.
It took a long time to de bug everything, my phone, the app, the dvr, the wifi, the modem, internet etc. But after a lot of tinkering and adjustment it works amazing well! I’m thrilled. But I do have excellent internet fastest available and the best phone… if your dvr has an auto reboot I suggest setting it to daily and occasionally erase the dvr instead if always overwrite. It works better… if you have problems with this app it’s probably your ip not fast enough. It works perf is set right!
Little buggy sometimes but it works great!!!! Absolutely love it and has amazing quality on the video. Stores 7 days worth of footage, 24 hours a day. I am still trying to figure out how to save the 7 days of recorded video to a flash drive or something. If you needed to turn over footage for any reason, I haven’t figured out how to go in the settings and change the storage location. I absolutely love this system. And another camera is only $35. I highly recommend this
